European Tourism Forum in Wrocław: a recap
2023-12-20On December 7, 2023, the Convention Bureau – Wrocław organized its annual meeting for members of the local Congress Ambassadors Club in the prestigious Old Library building, located at ul. Parkowa 1-3 in Wrocław.
The event kicked off at 2:00 PM, with the official welcome led by Wiktoria Król-Cieciorowska, President of the Convention Bureau – Wrocław. Following the welcome, a significant award ceremony took place. Overdue recognitions for Polish Congress Ambassadors were solemnly presented to distinguished personalities: Dr. hab. Eng. Krzysztof Burnecki, Prof. Dr. hab. Eng. Edward Chlebus, and Dr. hab. Piotr Sula. Their contributions to the development of the congress landscape, not only in Wrocław but also on a broader Polish scale, were acknowledged and honored. This symbolic award presentation further illuminated the atmosphere of this traditional event, emphasizing the significant role of Polish Congress Ambassadors in promoting and advancing the congress industry in Poland. Congratulations to all the laureates, and heartfelt thanks for their dedication and contributions to the sector.
Next, Anna Górka took the floor, presenting the beauty and history of the Old Library as the hosting venue.
As part of the substantive program, Agnieszka Szymerowska, Director of the SKKP Office, shared insights into global trends and directions in organizing and acquiring congresses, highlighting the 25-year history of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program. This presentation provided valuable insights and inspiration for all participants.
After the main presentation, it was time for a break and relaxation during the coffee and refreshment break, allowing participants the opportunity for informal networking and the exchange of experiences.
In the second part of the meeting, Wiktoria Król-Cieciorowska returned to the stage, presenting the “Green Document” as an introduction to the topic of green events and discussing the local market of sustainable events.
Subsequently, Dr. med. Paweł Gajdzis presented a case study, showcasing effective strategies for event acquisition, contributing significantly to the discussion on green and efficient event practices.
The final part of the meeting provided an opportunity for interactive discussion and the exchange of experiences among participants. The meeting concluded with an invitation for a guided tour of the venue, allowing for a deeper exploration of the Old Library.
