Wrocław Ambassadors Activity in 2021

The Wrocław Congress Ambassadors Programme complements and strengthens the nationwide Programme of Polish Congress Ambassadors and has been led by the Convention Bureau in Wrocław since 2006.

The title of the Wrocław Congress Ambassador is both a distinction and a confirmation of activities that are aimed at promoting Wrocław as the best destination to organize conferences and congresses.

The beginning of 2021 was still not the easiest one due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. However, the second half of the year allows us to plan events not only for the current year, but also for the upcoming years. The tendencies in the organization of conferences and congresses are mainly hybrid, hub and on-line formulas. Furthermore, the pandemic satiation in Poland makes it possible to conduct on-site events. It is worth noting that our Ambassadors do not slow down and plan various events as far as they are possible to conduct.

Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Kübler is currently involved in the organization of two scientific conferences to be held in Wrocław in 2022. These events will be conducted in on-site formula, however, their final form will depend on the sanitary and epidemiological situation. The Scientific and Training Conference Integrative Pain Medicine, April 8-9, 2022 (Conference Center of the ibis Styles Wrocław Centurm Hotel) and the XXXIII Conference “Advances in Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy”, 4th Polish Congress “Overcome sepsis”, June 09-11 2022 (Conference Center of the ibis Styles Wrocław Centrum Hotel).

Prof. dr hab. Wiesław Stręk, in cooperation with INTiBS PAN, Wrocław University of Technology and other universities from Wrocław, plans to organize at least two international scientific conferences next year. It will be – 1st International Conference on Advanced Materials for Bio-Related Applications, AMBRA 2022, to be held on May 16-19, 2022 at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the 21st International Conference on Dynamical Processes

in Excited States of Solids (DPC2022).

Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Milewicz together with Prof. dr hab. Marek Bolanowski, PhD, will organize a two-day scientific conference on October 23-24, 2021. The main organizer of the event is Sympomed company. The event is planned in a hybrid formula, and its organization falls on the 50th anniversary of the Department and Clinic of Endocrinology, Diabetology and Treatment and Isotopes of the Wrocław Medical University. Moreover, Prof. dr hab. Andrzej Milewicz is the author of different webinars concerning medical topics: Hormones and COVID-19, Premenstrual Syndrome and Benign Diseases of the Breast.

Dr hab. Piotr Sula from the University of Wrocław is involved in the organization of two events, also international ones – The 5th Congress of Political Science and the Interdisciplinary Summer School on Democracy. The Interdisciplinary Summer School on Democracy is scheduled to take place on September 12-18, 2021 in on-site formula in Wrocław, while the 5th Congress of Political Science, according to the decision of the Political Science Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, was postponed from September 2021 to September 2022.

President of the Management Board of ZOO Wrocław Sp. z o.o. Radosław Ratajszczak will co-organize an international educational conference in the third quarter of 2021. The International Conservation Education Conference 2021 is to be held on October 8-10 in the on-line formula. The event will

be conducted in cooperation with the San Diego Zoo.

We are honoured that such prominent representatives of the world of science and business, who are so actively engaged in the meetings industry, participate in the Wrocław Ambassadors Programme. Thanks to them, Wrocław is becoming more popular choice for organising international events.
