The Nutcracker – Royal Lviv Ballet
“The Nutcracker” is a short story made by German writer E. T.A. Hoffman. Alexandre Dumas, a French playwright, translated the work into his native language, and this version in turn inspired Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky to create a ballet.
The plot tells the story of a seven-year-old girl who gets the titular nutcracker for Christmas. When she falls asleep, the grandfather becomes Prince Charming, and she becomes his princess. They begin a journey to the Land of Sweets, and along the way various characters come to life and perform various dances.
The Royal Lviv Ballet, well-known for enchanting audiences around the world, will be responsible for the entire performance. On stage we will see dances such as “Trepak”, Shepherd’s Dance” and “Waltz of Flowers”.
