37TH PLEA CONFERENCE
Wrocław University of Science and Technology has the honor of hosting the 37th PLEA (Passive and Low Energy Architecture) Conference from June 25th to June 28th, 2024.
This event aims to create a forum for discussions on sustainable architecture and urbanism, focusing on key issues related to climate change and its impact on the built environment.
PLEA, an organization with international reach, has been integrating professionals, researchers, and students from over 40 countries for years. The PLEA Conference in Wrocław will be the first edition of this event in Poland, which is a significant achievement for both the university and the city.
During the conference, six main tracks will be discussed: sustainable architecture and urbanism for climate resilience, architecture for human resilience and well-being (including biophilic design and climate adaptation strategies for buildings and spaces), analyses and methods for resilience and sustainability, rethinking resilience through building and space renovations and adaptations, building resilience through innovation and technology, as well as education, training, and community activism.
The 2024 PLEA Conference will draw attention to the need for conscious design and construction in response to the challenges posed by climate change. Representatives from academia, practitioners, and students will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge, as well as collaborate in search of innovative solutions.
The participation of Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the host of this prestigious event emphasizes its role as a leader in sustainable design and research on the built environment. This event will be an opportunity to present the latest research and solutions in architecture and urbanism, as well as a platform for discussions on the future of sustainable development on a global scale.
