From November 19th to 21st, 2024, the prestigious IBTM World trade show took place in Barcelona, attracting leaders and experts from the global MICE industry. This year’s edition, hosted at Fira Barcelona, stood out with over 73,000 business meetings conducted—a 19% increase compared to the previous year. Poland made a remarkable impression, and Wrocław, as part of the national pavilion, significantly contributed to this success.
The Polish National Stand, coordinated by Poland Convention Bureau, brought together a wide range of partners, including representatives of convention bureaus, professional congress organizers, DMC companies, and congress and exhibition venues. Convention Bureau – Wrocław, as one of the participants, had the opportunity to promote the city and region as a dynamically developing destination for meetings and business events.
One of the highlights of the Polish stand was the unique atmosphere that drew many visitors, including Hosted Buyers and industry representatives from around the globe. A special attraction was coffee infused with salt from the Wieliczka Salt Mine—a sensory experience that became a hallmark of Poland’s presence.
Wrocław’s offerings did not go unnoticed. The city, renowned for its exceptional architecture, rich history, and modern conference facilities, sparked interest among event planners who recognized its potential as a MICE destination. Conversations frequently highlighted its convenient transport connections, diverse cultural offerings, and excellent urban infrastructure.
Participation in IBTM World 2024 provided Wrocław with an excellent opportunity to establish new business relationships, showcase its offerings, and exchange experiences with industry representatives from around the world. This year’s edition of the trade show further cemented the city’s position as a key player on the international meetings and events map.
IBTM World 2024 concluded with great success—for both Poland and Wrocław. The Wrocław stand served as a hub for inspiring conversations, many of which already promise exciting projects for the future. This event once again demonstrated that the city is ready to host events of the highest standards.
