2024-11-07The Poland Convention Bureau has released the 15th anniversary edition of the “Meetings and Events Industry in Poland 2024” report, which presents the current state of the meetings and events industry based on data from 2023. This report not only provides a detailed analysis of the past year but also summarizes the significant changes in the industry over the past 15 years.
Key Data from the Report
The report reveals the dynamic growth of Poland’s meetings and events industry:
- 51% increase in the number of events compared to 2022.
- Conferences and congresses accounted for the largest share – 54% of all events (a 12% increase compared to the previous year).
- Corporate and incentive events made up 41%, while fairs and exhibitions accounted for 5%.
Poland Among the Global Leaders
The ICCA 2023 (International Congress and Convention Association) report marked a record achievement for Poland – the country ranked 17th globally, climbing six places compared to the previous report. Hosting 179 international association meetings in 2023 highlights Poland’s growing role in the global meetings industry.
As Rafał Szmytke, President of the Polish Tourism Organisation, emphasized:
“The results included in the report and Poland’s highest position in the ‘ICCA Country and City Rankings 2023’ are truly encouraging. I am confident that thanks to professionalism and innovative approaches, Poland’s meetings industry has a solid foundation to continue its growth in the future.”
A 15-Year Retrospective
The report showcases how the industry has evolved over the past 15 years, with the establishment of modern conference and exhibition venues and the creation of regional and city convention bureaux. The report also includes insights from leading experts and institutions, such as Convention Bureau – Wrocław, Mazurkas DMC Poland, Gdańsk Convention Bureau, Poznań Convention Bureau, and other key players in the industry.
