2022-08-31On 16-19 September 2009 a 64th Congress of the Association of Polish Surgeons took place. On this occasion, Wrocław welcomed 2 thousands surgeons from Poland and from all around the world.
64th Congress of the Association of Polish Surgeons was an international event, which allowed to share ideas and experiences. Among most important guests was professor Stanley Dudrick from Yale University- widely recognized for his innovative research in development of the specialized central venus feeding technique, or professor Peter Gloviczki – prominent and talented surgeon from Mayo Clinic in USA.
Main theme of the conference was emergency surgery, vascular, and oncology. In addition to numerous demonstrations of surgical techniques, doctors have been debating about the training of young surgeons and adapting specialized programs to European Union requirements.
The capital of Lower Silesia is closely associated with the development of Polish and European surgery. Is the traditional birthplace of the great schools of surgeons, known and respected in the world. Chairman of the Association of Polish Surgeons, Professor. prof. dr hab. med. Wojciech Witkiewicz, took into account the openness, hospitality and atmosphere of Wroclaw, and he considered Wrocław as a natural place to organize the 64. Congress of the Association of Polish Surgeons.
