2016 European Men’s Handball Championship – twelfth European Championship in handball, the official international handball tournament of the national championship of the continent, organized by the EHF, aimed at selecting the best men’s national team in Europe. Held from 15 to 31 January 2016 in Poland, which hosted the event for the first time in history. The tournament was attended by sixteen teams. Poland was automatically promoted to the championship as hosts, while other teams needed to go through qualifications.
Germany became the champion for the second time, by defeating Spain in the final. Over 1.65 billion viewers around the world have watched the tournament.
