The report “Meetings and Events Industry in Poland” prepared by the Polish Tourist Organization and the Poland Convention Bureau is available now!
The report mainly includes a summary of last year’s (2020) achievements of the meetings industry. Due to the outbreak of the pandemic, the face of business tourism has changed all over the world, and therefore also in Poland. Online forms have combined with stationary events to create hybrid forms. Convention Bureau – Wrocław and 9 other regional convention bureaux took part in preparing this report by presenting the necessary data and statistics from individual cities – this information was also received from local organizers and venues which are very active in the meeting industry.
Furthermore, the report contains information on the organization of meetings and events on the international meetings market, based on data collected by ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) and UIA (Union of International Associations).
After reading the report, we can notice how the meetings industry quickly adapted to the new realities and the need to connect reality with the online world, which does not deny the willingness to return to face-to-face meetings. However, in the future, meetings are likely to incorporate elements and practices from virtual and hybrid events.
In 2021, the Convention Bureau – Wrocław informed the Polish Tourism Organization about 282 organized meetings and events for groups of 50 and more people: 48% – conferences and congresses, 40% – corporate and incentive events, 12% – fairs and exhibitions Wrocław hosted 117 thousand people during all of the events.
