The Wrocław Congress Ambassadors Programme complements and strengthens the nationwide Programme of Polish Congress Ambassadors and has been led by the Convention Bureau in Wrocław since 2006. The title of the Wrocław Congress Ambassador is both a distinction and a confirmation of activities that are aimed at promoting Wrocław as the best destination to organize conferences and congresses.
2021 is still not the easiest year due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Tendencies in the organization of conferences and congresses are hybrid, hub and on-line formulas. However, our Ambassadors do not slow down and plan various events as far as they are possible to conduct.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Marta Misiuk-Hojło conducted an on-line ophthalmology conference entitled “Young Talents”. This event took place on the 6th of February 2021 and enjoyed great interest from the participants. Young and ambitious ophthalmologists (in cooperation with their mentors) were invited to present unusual cases and short presentations of innovative doctoral dissertations. Almost six hundred listeners gathered to join the conference.
Prof. dr hab. n. med. Jacek Szepietowski is planning to organize a conference entitled Hidradenitis Suupurativa Day on the 26th of March 2021 in the on-line formula. Moreover, at the end of December, our Congress Ambassador wants to conduct an event entitled Controversies in Dermatology in a hybrid or on-site formula.
President of the Management Board of ZOO Wrocław Sp. z o.o. Radosław Ratajszczak will organize an international zoo-educators conference in October 2021. This conference will be conducted entirely online. The event will be conducted in cooperation with the San Diego Zoo.
We are honoured that such prominent representatives of the world of science and business, who are so actively engaged in the meetings industry, participate in the Wrocław Ambassadors Programme. Thanks to them, Wrocław is becoming more popular choice for organising international events.
