‘Mock: The Past Returns’ – A City Game with IFLA Congress

Just in a week Wrocław will host the IFLA World Library and Information Congress - 83rd IFLA General Conference and Assembly.

The Wrocław Public Library in partnership with the ‘Znak’ publishing house and the city of Wrocław are inviting for a city game based on Marek Krajewski’s  series of novels about detective Eberhard Mock.

Saturday, August 19th at 4:00 p.m. – Świdnicka underpass

In the 1930’s the city of Breslau was governed by the Nazis. It was a difficult time period, full of tension and political turmoil. The Public institutions were being taken over one by one and nobody knew what tomorrow would bring.

In 2017 a letter addressed to Eberhard Mock was found in the attic of a building in Wrocław. The letter referred to the missing woman - Greta Langer, the cousin of Marietta von der Malten who was murdered in 1933. Step into the world of pre-war Wrocław and conduct your own investigation.

Take with you: a smartphone/tablet with an ActionTrack app (available at Google Play and AppStore), mobile internet connection and geolocation turned on. Remember to charge your batteries. You might also need a Power Bank. The game will last for about 2-3 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and have sufficient amount of water. Sun protection is also recommended.

Good luck and see you there!
