Convention Bureau - Wrocław, together with the Academia Europaea Wrocław Knowledge Hub, organized a meeting of Wrocław Congress Ambassadors, which took place on December 5, 2017 at the AC by Marriott Wrocław hotel. The program of Wrocław Congress Ambassadors associates the academic and business environment of Wrocław in order to more effectively bring events for the city. The many years of tradition and prestige of the program confirm the fact that it is an effective tool for gaining domestic and international events. It is worth noting that it is a long-term activity that brings tangible results in the form of specific events organized in Wrocław.
Among the invited guests were, apart from the Ambassadors, representatives of the local government, including Magdalena Piasecka, Deputy Mayor of Wrocław and Polish members of Academia Europaea. The meeting was also a good opportunity to present the activities of both the Convention Bureau - Wrocław, as well as the Wrocław hub of the Academia Europaea. CBW President, Jakub Grudniewski introduced participants to new hotel, conference and congress projects in Wrocław. He also presented an extensive network of flight connections as well as the activities of the Expert Board of Business Tourism (Rada Ekspertów Turystyki Biznesowej). For more information on the Ambassadors' Program and the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program, Aneta Książek from Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourist Organisation presented plans for the program and applications for the title of Honorary Ambassador of Polish Congresses in 2018. Special role of Congress Ambassadors in the development of the meetings industry was presented by Milos Milovanovic, a consultant working for GainingEdge. He explained how the Ambassadors can develope to meetings industry, including its economic impact and how their role is important in increasing the recognisability of the destination. As the founder and president of the Serbia Convention Bureau in the years 2007 - 2014, he also cooperated with the Ambassadors and presented his experience, as well as conclusions from the work with this important group. Among the Ambassadors of Wrocław Congresses, there are also representatives of the academic world, to whom role of Academia Europaea Wrocław Knowledge Hub was presented by Katarzyna Majkowska. Significant aspects of functioning and support opportunities through city programs for students, entrepreneurs and academics were presented by Ms. Monika Sochacka, Deputy Director of the Office for Cooperation with Universities of Wrocław City Council. The participants of the meeting also had the opportunity to discuss during lunch, after which they were invited to explore the hotel space.
